Trusted Agent
Editorial Policy
The standards every Trusted Agent article is held to.
Accuracy and sourcing
We verify factual, insurance, tax, rating, and statistical claims against current authoritative sources and record when we accessed them. We do not publish fabricated statistics, quotes, reviews, licensing claims, carrier relationships, or ratings. When something can't be verified, we say so or leave it out.
Education, not individualized advice
Our articles are general education. They are not individualized insurance, tax, legal, or investment advice. Product features, availability, rates, and suitability vary by carrier and state, and guarantees depend on the claims-paying ability of the issuing insurer. A licensed professional can help you evaluate your situation.
Balance and independence
We explain relevant disadvantages, limitations, charges, liquidity restrictions, surrender periods, loan risks, tax conditions, and non-guaranteed elements — not just benefits. We don't claim a product is right for everyone, and we don't rank a "best" carrier without transparent, consumer-relevant criteria.
Review and updates
Regulated topics are reviewed by a licensed professional before publication. We show publication and last-updated dates, and we refresh figures like tax limits, ratings, and regulations on an appropriate schedule. Corrections are handled on our corrections page.
Trusted Agent is a verification standard for life insurance agents. It is not an insurer and does not sell insurance. Content is general education, not individualized insurance, tax, legal, or investment advice. Product features, availability, rates, and suitability vary by carrier and state. Guarantees depend on the claims-paying ability of the issuing insurer.
